Quiksilver Inc.: Arthur O. Armstrong has been appointed to the board of directors of Quiksilver Inc., a Newport Beach-based designer of beachwear and sports clothes. Armstrong has been acting chief administrative officer of Merle Norman Cosmetics since 1988. He is a founding partner of the Century City-based law firm of Armstrong, Hirsch & Levine and was previously affiliated with the firms of Irell & Manella and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
