Cubic Corp.: The San Diego electronics systems firm posted a record profit of $21 million for fiscal 1989, up 64% from a year ago. Revenue totaled $349 million, up 2%. The company said the record earnings were primarily due to its defense subsidiary, which produces the air combat “Top Gun” training system.
