Northeast Telephone Workers Strike Settled

NEW YORK —
The Communications Workers of America, representing 40,000 telephone workers in the Northeast, signed a tentative agreement Wednesday with NYNEX New York Telephone.
If ratified, the pact would end the last of five strikes among the seven Baby Bell local phone companies created in the 1984 breakup of American Telephone & Telegraph.
