WORLD IN BRIEF : MOROCCO : King Orders 1990 Elections Put Off

Elections that had been scheduled for September, 1990, have been postponed for at least two years in hopes that the disputed Western Sahara will be able to join in the voting, King Hassan II announced. Hassan also called on the United Nations to speed up plans for a referendum in the disputed territory to see whether residents want to live under Moroccan rule.
