U.N. Group Seeks Boat People Inquiry
The United Nations’ refugee agency Friday called on Hong Kong to investigate allegations that undue force was used when moving Vietnamese boat people between detention centers.
The office of U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees has protested the circumstances surrounding the Oct. 31 move of 48 Vietnamese, who are among the tens of thousands of boat people seeking asylum in the British colony.

The government denied that undue force was used.
