Investor Sues Santa Barbara Paper for Defamation: Attorney and investor Leonard M. Ross filed a $10-million defamation suit Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court against the Santa Barbara News Press. The suit stems from two articles written in November, 1988, and February, 1989, concerning Ross’ business dealings. The publisher, Joe Tarrer, declined comment. The attorney at the newspaper’s parent company, the New York Times, could not be reached for comment. (Filed Nov. 22, 1989, Case No. C744583)
