Triton Group Ltd. The San Diego-based conglomerate reported a third-quarter loss of $7.6 million on revenue of $36 million, compared with a loss on continuing operations of $342,000 on revenue of $39 million over the corresponding quarter last year. Triton blamed the loss on the decision to write down the value of preferred stock received in the 1988 sale of its Simplicity Pattern unit.
