Summit on the Rocks: Will George Bush and Mikhail Gorbachev toast each other with Russian-made vodka? They will if the makers and U.S. importers of Stolichnaya vodka have their way. Trying to make a marketing tool out of the upcoming “Summit at Sea,” the company has created a full-page ad that is scheduled to run in several newspapers on Friday--the day before the two leaders are scheduled to meet at sea off the Mediterranean island of Malta. The ad shows a Russian ship and an American ship floating inside an empty vodka bottle. Under the bottle is the headline, “Here’s to smooth sailing.”
