WORLD IN BRIEF : AFGHANISTAN : Kabul General Killed, Rebels Say
Afghanistan insurgents said that an army general was killed in fighting outside Jalalabad. The guerrillas also admitted that three of their own commanders were killed in recent actions against the Communist government in Kabul. MIDIA, a news agency run by various guerrilla factions, said that Brig. Gen. Ghulam Haidar died during an artillery barrage.
