WORLD : Barrage of Shelling in Lebanon

BEIRUT —
Forces loyal to Lebanese President Elias Hrawi fought their fiercest clashes so far with troops of Christian military leader Michel Aoun today, trading tank and mortar fire across Beirut’s Green Line divide. Panicking civilians fled the city or rushed to underground shelters when the 90-minute barrage erupted in the morning.
