A Santa Ana resident was one of two men indicted by a federal grand jury in Texas this week for allegedly smuggling over a ton of cocaine.

Arrested and indicted Monday by a federal grand jury in Del Rio were Alfonso Martin Portillo of Santa Ana and Antonio Obseguera Lucatero of Pomona.

DEA spokesman Bill McDonald said the Del Rio Combined Task Force seized just slightly less than 2,004 pounds of cocaine early Sunday morning 17 miles west of Comstock.
