WORLD IN BRIEF : LEBANON : Israeli Jets Strike Palestinian Bases

Israeli jets raided Palestinian guerrilla bases near Sidon, the provincial capital of southern Lebanon. Officials said the Israeli planes hit bases used by guerrillas allied to terrorist Abu Nidal and the Syrian-backed Palestine Liberation Front on the northern edge of the Majdalioun Valley. Police said seven people were wounded in the attack, Israel’s 17th this year.
