Japanese Get 7.4% Hike in Traditional Bonus

Japanese companies, benefiting from a booming economy, have given their workers the biggest bonus increase in nearly 10 years.

Workers at Japan’s major industries received an average 7.43% rise in their traditional year-end bonuses, which averaged $4,870, the Japan Federation of Employers’ Assn. said today.

Most Japanese companies pay bonuses twice a year.
