Limiting the Population in Campaign to Cut Smog

In regard to the editorial (Dec. 6) dealing with air-pollution alternatives, I am afraid I must agree. Americans have fallen into the habit of “pointing the political finger” at everyone except ourselves, who are really to blame.

We as a society acknowledge our problems, our faults, yet when it comes time to take a stand and make a change, we cower in the corner of conformity. Yes, we want clean air. Yes, we want a better world for future generations. but, no, we aren’t willing to pay the price.

Possibly 20 years from now, when we are all wearing gas masks and oxygen tanks, $17.99 for an electric charcoal lighter won’t seem like too much to ask.
