Mormons Sending Milk to Armenia

SALT LAKE CITY —
Citing a severe shortage of milk in Armenia, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is shipping 10,000 pounds of powdered milk from its dairy farms to the hard-hit Soviet republic.
The Salt Lake City-based church says milk-production restrictions in the wake of the 1986 nuclear accident in Chernobyl had caused the milk shortage in Armenia, which also was devastated by earthquake a year ago.
