West Hollywood : Computer ‘Bulletin Board’

Share

West Hollywood computer-users seeking community news and law-enforcement information may now tap into a computerized “bulletin board” created by personnel at the West Hollywood sheriff’s station.

The system, which has been in operation since late October, is open to residents with IBM-compatible computers equipped with telephone modems. It allows users to access information from their homes or offices.

Included in the bulletin board is up-to-date information on such things as Neighborhood Watch programs, city activities and Sheriff’s Department activities. The service also will provide advice on crime prevention and information about suspects wanted for crimes.

The system is similar to one provided by the city of Santa Monica.

To access the system, users may call (213) 652-8157 24 hours a day.
