Wian, the chain’s namesake and founder, now retired and living in Newport Beach. . . . Worse yet, as the coffee shops remodel, those larger-than-life statues out front of the pudgy kid with the pompadour and checkerboard overalls--may also be on the way out . . . “They’ve been a pain in the butt to keep from being stolen,” said Marriott spokesman Rick Sneed.
