From Times wire services

Morocco’s coastline is no longer in danger of being spoiled by a huge oil spill, and nearly all the 19 million gallons of oil that gushed into the sea have dissolved, pollution experts said today.

The Iranian tanker Kharg 5, which began leaking oil after an explosion Dec. 19, had been towed 300 miles off the Moroccan coast by Wednesday night, the Dutch salvage firm Smit Tak said.

The edge of the slick held its position today 20 miles off the oyster-farming community of Oualidia, the official Maghreb Arab Presse agency said.
