Riot police charged groups of rival fans to stop street fighting following the aborted Milan-Verona championship game, police said today.

A police spokesman said two youths and one policeman were injured in clashes that erupted outside Meazza Stadium after thick fog forced the postponement of Wednesday night’s match.

Twenty hooligans were taken into custody and released after being identified, police reported.
