Hot New Mexico State Streaks Past UCSB

UC Santa Barbara ran into a hot New Mexico State team Thursday night and the Gauchos were beaten, 74-61, in a Big West Conference game at Goleta.

Keith Hill scored 24 points and James Anderson added 16 points as the Aggies, coming off a victory over Nevada Las Vegas on Monday, won their 11th in a row to improve to 13-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference.

Eric McArthur led the Gauchos with 18 points and 28 rebounds, which was was the best rebounding performance in the conference this season. Santa Barbara fell to 8-4 and 2-2.
