The search for an airplane carrying two officials from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration centered on a remote mountain in northern Chile after a mule herder reported seeing what looked like “a crashed aircraft,” police said. The Americans aboard were identified as John Harty Jr. and Patrick Pouzar, who were in Chile to check procedures in the harvesting, packing and transport of fruits being exported to the United States.
