Richard Kroell, a member of the Austrian B-team, scored his first World Cup skiing victory as the Austrians swept the top four places in the men’s giant slalom event at Val Badia, Italy.

Kroell was timed in 2 minutes 26.55 seconds. Gunther Mader was second, .08 behind. Rudolf Nierlich, the world giant slalom champion, and Hubert Strolz were tied in third place in 2:26.77.
