Scientists Plan to Install Monitors on Volcano

ANCHORAGE —
Redoubt Volcano fumed quietly Monday, and a team of scientists planned to install new seismic sensors on the peak’s flanks, the Alaska Volcano Observatory reported.
Another team planned to look at past mud flows in sections of the Drift River Valley to determine flooding hazards, and a third was to investigate deposits left by Jan. 2 and Jan. 8 eruptions.
