Robert H. Smith succeeded Richard J. Flamson III today as chief executive officer of Los Angeles-based Security Pacific Corp., the nation’s fourth-largest bank holding company.
Flamson, 60, said he will continue to serve as chairman of the board, with Smith, 54, becoming president and chief executive officer of Security Pacific Corp. and chairman of the board of Security Pacific National Bank.
Smith joined Security Pacific in 1961 as a management trainee and later served in a variety of posts in the retail bank, the trust department and the merchant bank.
