Television rights to date for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, a major source of revenue, have been sold for a record $610 million, 50% more than for the Seoul Games, a spokesman for the organizers said today.

Miguel Botella, head of marketing finance operations for the Barcelona Olympic Organizing Committee, said at an industry meeting in New York that he expects the final figure to exceed $620 million. Television rights for the 1988 Seoul Olympics totaled $407 million.

The largest single bid accepted for Barcelona was from NBC, which paid $401 million. Television rights will account for 34% of revenue for the Olympics, Botella said.
