Charles Schwab Corp.: Profit at America’s largest discount broker more than doubled in 1989 to $19 million. Revenue totaled $553.2 million, up 41% from 1988. The San Francisco firm cited a 24% gain in commission revenue due to stronger market activity and increased interest revenue.
