Gary L. Leary and David R. Carpenter have been appointed to the board of directors of PacifiCare Health Systems, a Cypress-based owner and operator of health maintenance organizations. Leary, an attorney with a private law practice in North Hollywood, also serves as corporate counsel for UniHealth America, the principal shareholder of PacifiCare Health Systems. Carpenter is chairman and chief executive of Transamerica Occidental Life Insurance Co.
