PIE: As part of their rally at the Capitol on Monday to celebrate the 17th anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision by the U.S. Supreme Court, pro-choice forces handed out apple pies to every legislative office. The message: Choice is as American as apple pie. . . . Only Assemblyman Gil Ferguson’s (R-Newport Beach) office refused to take the pie. Ferguson wasn’t in, but aide Cathy Pirie declined, citing dietary reasons. . . . An ardent abortion foe, Ferguson said that “had I been there, I would have thrown the pie out.”
