DEATH : World’s Tallest Man Dies in Fall
Gabriel Estavo Mondjane, the tallest man in the world at more than 8 feet, has died of injuries sustained when he fell, bumping his head on a concrete patio in his back yard, the state-run daily Noticias reported today. He was 45.
Mondjane, recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest living man in the world at 8 feet, 3/4 inch, died Sunday. Guiness said he weighed 392 pounds.
Mondjane was known in Mozambique as the “Giant of Monjacaze,” after his birthplace in the southern Mozambican province of Gaza.
