Pasadena : AIDS Task Force Named

Fifteen members of the city’s AIDS Strategic Planning Task Force were appointed Tuesday by the Board of Directors. The group will help plan how to battle the disease in the 1990s.

Task force members include Rick Cole, city director for District 2; Alan Mathies, chief executive officer at Huntington Memorial Hospital; Samuel Pangburn, executive director of St. Luke’s Medical Center; Stephen Mack, community activist; Susana Miele and Wilburt Smith, Pasadena Unified School District trustees; Antonia Darder, a board member of People’s Project of All Saints Service Center, and Cindy Friedman, Haven House director.

Also, Larry Wilson, Pasadena Star-News editorial page editor; the Rev. George Regas, All Saints Episcopal Church rector; Dr. Oscar Streeter, All Saints AIDS Service Center board member; Mona Saavedra, Interregional Committee on AIDS Policy and the Kaiser Permanente AIDS Program member; Andrew Escajeda, AIDS patient; Dr. Natalie Sanders of Southern California Hemostasis Medical Group, and Dan Gumbleton, a social worker.
