Moorhouse Ties Own Breaststroke Mark
Olympic champion Adrian Moorhouse equaled his own world record of 1 minute 1.49 seconds in leading England to a sweep in the men’s 100-meter breaststroke in the Commonwealth Games on Thursday at Auckland, New Zealand.
Moorhouse, who had been hoping to break the record he set in Bonn in the European championships last year, took the lead after the first 25 meters.
He reached the turn in 29.36 seconds and surged into a commanding lead over teammates James Parrack and Nick Gillingham.
Parrack took the silver in 1:03:15 and Gillingham the bronze in 1:03:16.
