Xerox Corp.: The Stamford, Conn., firm said net income for 1989 totaled $704 million, compared to 1988 profit of $388 million, which included a $244-million restructuring provision. Revenue rose 7% to $17.6 billion. The copying machine company credited the gain to a successful line of new products, continued tight cost controls and benefits from the restructuring program.
