USG Corp: The Chicago building materials company reported 1989 net income of $28 million on sales of $2.19 billion. For 1988, net income totaled $125 million on sales of $2.25. billion. The figures are not comparable due to restructuring changes incurrd in mid-1988 recapitalization. The company noted that gypsum board sales at its largest subsidiary, United States Gypsum Co., continued strong despite a reduced housing market.
