Authorities seized $2.5 million in drug money and more than 200 guns in an underground shelter on a ranch owned by slain drug king Jose Gonzalo Rodriguez Gacha, the army said Saturday.

Gen. Ramon Eduardo Niebles of the 13th Army Brigade in Bogota told reporters that soldiers discovered the cash and weapons stashed on the ranch “Freddy 1,” in Guaduas, 42 miles southwest of Bogota.

Rodriguez Gacha, his son Freddy Rodriguez Celades, and five others were gunned down when they tried to shoot their way out of a police ambush in northern Colombia on Dec. 15.
