Entrapment

Share

God knows I am no friend of Mayor Marion Barry of Washington, D.C. In fact, he would make my list of the top 10 most despicable men in the U.S.

However, I find the FBI use of Rasheeda Moore to lure Barry to a hotel room where an undercover FBI woman produced cocaine (Part A, Jan. 27) to be an act more revolting than any of the mayor’s actions.

Law enforcement entrapment preys upon human imperfections and weaknesses, and this is entrapment in every sense of the word. Our society must not permit this behavior on the part of our enforcement officials, no matter how heinous the crime may seem.

I am a strong conservative with very little liberal sympathies, however, I believe the mayor to be a victim of ineptness and unlawful practices of the FBI.
