Buried Human Skull Linked to Cult Rituals

PHILADELPHIA —
Medical examiners on Sunday identified a skull found buried with animal bones and linked to cult rituals as human but said it appeared to have been from a body that had been been dead for some time.
Workers in a North Philadelphia park found the skull buried Saturday along with scorched pottery and handcuffs, police said. A police source said the find suggested a Caribbean-born religious cult, known as Santeria, that involves animal sacrifices.
