Ashton-Tate Corp.: The Torrance firm reported a fourth-quarter net loss of $1 million, contrasted with net income of $13.4 million a year ago. Revenue fell 29% to $62.1 million. The maker of microcomputer software products attributed the results for the quarter and for fiscal 1989 to reduced revenues, and said a gain on the sale of its interest in Sybase Inc. was offset by writeoffs. For the year ended Dec. 31, the maker of microcomputer software products lost $28.6 million, contrasted with net income of $47.7 million in fiscal 1988, which ended Jan. 31, 1989. Revenue for the year fell 14% to $265.3 million.
