In reply to the letter from Beverly Smith Griebel (“Californians,” Feb. 4):

Ms. Griebel, you and the other writers bashing Californians who move into your state are really confusing me. One consistent complaint is that we are bringing inflation to your state. As I understand it, the inflated price (for real estate) is usually set by the seller, not the buyer. Maybe that is why, in the same edition that your letter appeared, there were no less than 40 classified ads for “Out of State” property for sale in Washington! Now who is the culprit?

Sounds to me that there may be either a few greedy hypocrites in the state of Washington, or you are speaking for the very few who are not benefiting from the infusion of some new money.
