Maxwell Buys Into Leading Hungarian Daily: Media magnate Robert Maxwell bought 40% of a top Hungarian newspaper. Maxwell Communication Corp. paid between $1.7 million and $3.4 million for 40% of Magyar Hirlap, Maxwell told reporters. The daily has a circulation of about 100,000. The other partners in a new joint company called Magyar Hirlap Publishing include a Hungarian banking consortium with 40%, the Magyar Hirlap Foundation with 5% and Pallas Publishers with 14%.
