WILMINGTON, Del. —
In a bid to capture the Far East nylon market, Du Pont Co. said it plans to spend $1 billion over the next 10 years to expand its operations in the region.
Company chairman Edgar Woolard said demand for nylon in the Far East is growing at a rate that is twice the world’s average.
The first part of Du Pont’s planned expansion will be a $200-million plant in Singapore.
