WORLD IN BRIEF : HONG KONG : Refugee Clashes Quelled by Police

Police fired tear gas to quell clashes among Vietnamese refugees at a Hong Kong detention center, where two days of fighting have injured 68 people. The violence broke out when about 1,000 refugees were moved to another section of the center. A Hong Kong spokeswoman said rival groups of Vietnamese from Haiphong and Quong Ninh were involved in the fighting.
