Karate Event Set Saturday in Irvine

About 3,000 competitors will vie in 150 divisions at a national karate event to be held Saturday at the UC Irvine Bren Center. The competition, which starts at 9:30 a.m., is the only national karate event scheduled in the Southland this year.
