Mail Boxes Etc. has reached an out-of-court settlement of a lawsuit involving the company’s 1983 purchase of shares held by Nancy Tash, the daughter of one of the company’s founders. as part of the settlement, Tash dropped all claims, including some pending claims in a related lawsuit against a former Mail Boxes Etc. director.
Details of the settlement were not released, but Mail Boxes Etc. said it paid about $2.8 million to the plaintiff group. The after-tax cost of the settlement will be about $1.7 million, the company said.
