Litton Industries Inc.: The Beverly Hills-based conglomerate said its second-quarter profit totaled $44.6 million, up 3% from a year ago. Sales rose 5% to $1.3 billion. The improvement was due in part to higher operating earnings in the company’s industrial systems and services segment.
