Motorola May Announce New Workstation: Motorola, a leading semiconductor maker with a minor presense in computers, is expected to unveil in early March a new high-powered desktop computer workstation based on its own RISC chip. The machine--representing a major push by Motorola into the fast-growing workstation market--will compete head on with a new workstation introduced last week by International Business Machines, sources said. RISC, which stands for reduced instruction set computing, allows for faster processing of data and is gaining increasing acceptance in desktop systems.
