BOSTON — For the third time in the last year, a medical products company recalled one of its catheters Friday after federal authorities seized the devices, which are used to relieve blocked arteries, and warned that they could cause serious harm.
William Bopp, vice president of C. R. Bard Inc. in Murray Hill, N.J., said his company instituted the recall Friday and was working with the federal government to retrieve the product.
U.S. marshals Thursday seized 2,000 boxes of catheters manufactured by Bard’s USCI Division in Billerica, a Boston suburb.
