PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. — Authorities seized 12,700 pounds of hashish on an ocean-going tugboat off Florida, the Coast Guard reported Wednesday.
The hashish, reportedly from Lebanon, was found aboard a 120-foot tug flying a Honduran flag in the Atlantic Ocean, Coast Guard officials said. The crew members were arrested.
“This is the sixth-biggest hashish bust in the nation. We’re talking about 12,700 pounds and it’s all in bricks--pressed brick form,” Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Wade Akin said.
