Florence Griffith-Joyner, who retired from athletics after winning the women’s 100 and 200 meters gold medal in Seoul, has taken up marathon running and hopes to run in the event at the 1996 Olympics.

Griffith-Joyner also told a sports dinner Wednesday she was negotiating to play the part of a female James Bond in a yet to be announced film.

The American who won three gold medals at the 1988 Olympics told a Sydney newspaper: “I have the dream of running the marathon because I just love running. I’ll go out and just run and run and run along the roads. I love the fact of running.”
