Four reputed neo-Nazi skinheads, including a brother and sister from Yorba Linda, received jail sentences after they pleaded no contest to charges that they beat up an Iranian couple they mistakenly thought were Jewish, prosecutors said Thursday.

Timothy Zaal, 25, of Glendora will serve one year in Los Angeles County Jail. Scott Wilson, 28, of West Covina was sentenced to 180 days in jail. They each faced one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon.

William Killackey, 21, of Yorba Linda, who pleaded no contest to one misdemeanor count of battery, was sentenced Wednesday by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Robert Dukes to 120 days in jail.

His sister, Amy Killackey, 19, who faced the same charge, received a 34-day term but will not be imprisoned because she was given credit for time already served, Deputy Dist. Atty. Gary Frank Hearnsberger said.

All four defendants have also been placed on three years’ probation. Each faced up to four years in prison.

The four were charged after beating up Manochehr Sadri, 30, and his wife, Frazaneh, 28, in the parking lot of a La Verne supermarket last May 28.

A school security guard, Leonard Washington, 34, came to the couple’s aid and helped to detain the suspects until police arrived.

At a preliminary hearing in July, the Sadris, who lived in Glendora, testified that the defendants attacked them after one of them screamed, “White Power! White Rule!” Anti-Semitic remarks were also heard.

Defense attorney Ted H. Meeder Jr. argued that the defendants had been mislabeled as skinheads and characterized the assault as “just a parking lot argument.”

Some skinheads--often with hair extremely short--are known for their white-supremacist beliefs and violent behavior.
