PHILLY CONNECTION: The ranking prelate at Tuesday’s installation of the Most Rev. Michael Driscoll (right), as auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Orange (B3) was retired Cardinal John Krol (left) of Philadelphia. . . . Krol, a longtime intimate of Pope John Paul II, was renewing his ties with the diocese. . . . In 1982, Krol joined his friend, the late Bishop of Orange William R. Johnson, at the dedication of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Irvine. . . . Krol led the effort to canonize Neumann, a Philadelphia bishop.
